A Carpenter’s annual pay ranges from 40-60k based on certifications and experience.

• Willing and capable of taking on-call nights and weekend shifts (minimum of 1 week per month) could be more depending on the demand of customer calls. This includes arranging your own transportation to and from our facility in Colona, IL.

Job Description

Help People Put Their Lives Back Together When a family experiences a fire, water loss, or other disaster, their belongings are more than just "stuff." They are photos, keepsakes, furniture, and memories. As a **Contents Pack-Out Technician at Werner Restoration**, you'll be part of the team that carefully packs, documents, moves, protects, and returns those belongings while their home is being restored. No restoration experience? That's okay. We hire for attitude, work ethic, and reliability—and we'll train you on the rest.**

Job Duties

What You'll Do * Carefully pack household belongings following fire, water, and other property losses * Wrap, box, label, photograph, and inventory customer contents * Move and load furniture, boxes, and household items * Transport belongings to and from our facility * Organize customer contents while they're being stored * Assist with cleaning and deodorizing salvageable belongings * Complete pack-backs by returning belongings to customers once their homes are ready * Work directly with customers and treat their homes and belongings with care and respect * Keep work areas, vehicles, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized * Assist other members of the restoration team when needed

Qualifications

You don't need restoration experience to get started. We're looking for someone who: * Is dependable and shows up ready to work * Takes pride in doing things the right way * Pays attention to details * Works well as part of a team * Is comfortable working inside customers' homes * Can communicate professionally and respectfully with customers * Is willing to learn new skills * Can regularly lift and carry boxes, furniture, and household contents * Can lift approximately 50 lbs. independently and heavier items with assistance * Has a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Regularly required to:  

• Sit and walk 

• Bend, climb, kneel, and stoop 

• Crawl under structures, climb ladders, get on roofs, and crawl/walk in attics 

• See to read printed materials and a computer screen 

• Talk and hear to communicate in person, in groups, and over the telephone 

• Reach with hands and arms 

• Use finger dexterity to handle and operate power tools and hand tools 

• Answer & handle phone calls and able to communicate in the English language 

Occasionally required to: 

• Lift up to 40 lbs. independently and 100 lbs. with assistance 

• Use hands to handle and feel; operate objects, tools, or controls 

• Operate a motor vehicle 

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both inside and outside, where the employee is exposed to various weather conditions, which range from extreme cold to extreme hot.  The employee will regularly be exposed to moderate noise levels, wet and/or humid conditions, and vibration.  The employee will frequently work inside and on top of various buildings or structures, as well as near moving mechanical parts.  The employee is exposed to varying noise levels, humidity, temperatures, and odors.

Werner Restoration is growing, and we are looking for an experienced, motivated Mitigation Specialist to join our Restoration Division!

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with water damage restoration experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. Supervisory Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Respond to new mitigation opportunities by inspecting property damage, documenting losses, preparing scopes of work, and securing project contracts.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, insurance adjusters, and industry professionals.

• Educate customers on the restoration process and provide exceptional customer service.

• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure smooth project transitions and successful outcomes.

• Review job documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper billing.

• Monitor project progress, budgets, and profitability.

• Communicate changes in project scope with customers, adjusters, and internal teams.

• Assist with employee training, development, and operational improvements.

• Support the continued growth and success of the Restoration Division.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years of restoration industry experience.

• Strong knowledge of water damage mitigation and restoration procedures.

• IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within the required timeframe.

• Additional IICRC certifications, including ASD, are a plus.

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Willingness to respond to emergency situations and participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.
